Best known for his Oscar for Best Musician in In 2009, for his score of Slumdog Millionaire, Rahman also won the Critics' Choice Award, the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music, and two Academy Awards for Best Original Music Score and Best Original Song at the 2009 Oscars.
Along with an entourage that includes 80 dancers, acrobats, and crew members, Rahman is collaborating with creative director Amy Tinkham, who has worked to create concerts for Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys and Mariah Carey. The tour will not only feature Rahman's music, but keep intact the heritage and traditions of India with a new modern presentation. The show will feature changing sets, large images on LED screens and a spectacular cast of musicians and dancers from across the globe. Also performing with Rahman is well-known Indian singer Hariharan, who sang such Rahman hits as "Tu Hi Re" from film Bombay, Javed Ali, the voice behind the hit song "Hai Guzarish" from film Ghajini, Benny Dayal, Winner of the 2009 Filmfare R.D. Burman Award for New Music Talent, Blaaze, the rock-voice of Rahman's "Humma Humma" from film Bombay, Shweta Pandit, Winner of 2009 Best Female Playback Singer for "Nenani Neevani", and up-and-coming musical sensation and talent Neetii Muhan.
