A.I.M [Abraham in Motion] at Rialto
May 21 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
An Untitled Love is the latest evening-length work from 2013 MacArthur Fellow Kyle Abraham . Composed of the catalogue of Grammy Award-winning R&B legend D’Angelo, this creative exaltation serves as a thumping mixtape celebrating culture, family and community. The mission of A.I.M, under Abraham’s Artistic Direction, is to create an evocative interdisciplinary body of work. The company is a representation of dancers from various disciplines and diverse personal backgrounds who come together to create something fresh and unique. Brought to life by the boundless talent of these dancers, Abraham’s work entwines a sensual and provocative vocabulary with a strong emphasis on sound, human behavior and all things visual to create an avenue for personal investigation and expression. And if anything demands the sensuous choreography of Kyle Abraham, it’s the seductive, lush music of D’Angelo. We invite you to join us for this transcendent night of movement and music — and to ask yourself: “How does it feel?”
The presentation of A.I.M by Kyle Abraham “An Untitled Love” was made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts’ National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
It is also funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts and Georgia Council for the Arts.
